Osun Online Publishers Association Kicks Off 2024 Digital Media Week

The Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) has officially commenced the second edition of the Osun Digital Media Week 2024, themed “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence in the 21st Century.”
The event began on Wednesday with a press conference at the association’s office, led by the Week Chairman, Adesoji Omosebi.
As part of the activities, members of the association visited Abiye Orphanage Home in Osogbo to support the welfare of the children. They also extended their community service to Igbona Market by donating waste bins and brooms to promote cleanliness.
The committee chairman,Adesoji stated that the event will run for three days, featuring a public lecture and an award ceremony on December 5 at Ben-Bar Event Hall, Osogbo. He added that the week would conclude with a recreational visit to a tourist center in Osun State by members of the association.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the association, Mukhtar Ajelogbon, urged members to uphold journalistic ethics, emphasizing truthfulness, balance, and objectivity in their reporting. He called on the government to prioritize supporting digital media by providing grants and modern tools to enhance investigative reporting.
“I urge all new media practitioners to always reflect truthfulness, balance, and objectivity in their news reports. These are the essentials and rudiments of journalism.
“Avoid partiality in your stories. Balance your stories by presenting both sides, and do not report false news,” he advised.
