Governor Adeleke’s Performance Set Stage For Osun 2026 Election — Spokesperson
The Spokesperson to Osun State Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, has hailed the Governor of the state, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for redefining governance in the state.
Olawale commended Adeleke’s governance through his focus on the needs of the people and prioritizing good governance.
He made this statement during his appearance at the 6th Media Parley organized by Osun Online Publishers in Osogbo on Saturday
He said that administration has outperformed its predecessors, demonstrating that effective governance requires listening to the people and delivering on their expectations.
“We have taken power from them and outperformed them. Governance is not difficult; it’s just a matter of listening to the people and looking for what they want. This is what Governor Adeleke has been doing,” Rasheed stated.
Olawale also addressed the delay in the announcement of new recruitment into the state’s civil service, citing financial prudence as the reason.
He explained that the government is carefully weighing its financial capacity to ensure it can sustain the new minimum wage, pay salaries, and avoid disruptions to ongoing obligations.
“The delay in announcing recruitment is because we wanted to finalize the issue of the minimum wage. We are comparing it with incomes from federal allocations and Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) before making a final decision,” he added.
As the 2026 gubernatorial election approaches, Rasheed emphasized the importance of local dynamics in determining the outcome.
He expressed confidence in Adeleke’s popularity and performance, which he said has transformed Osun into a hub of progress and development.
“Adeleke is a popular man. He has turned Osun into a small London. Elections are not won by shouting; they are won at the local level. Local factors in Osun will determine who wins in 2026,” he said .
