Osun Amotekun Arrests Fake Land Seller

The Osun Amotekun Corps has apprehended a 42-year-old man, Lasisi Ismail, for allegedly selling a piece of land that does not belong to him in Ilori-Agedu, Ede for N800,000.

Ismail,accused of selling the land to a woman, Mrs. Afolabi, using forged documents was arrested followed a report filed at the Amotekun Headquarters in Osogbo, after the operatives swiftly tracked him down in his hideout.

According to the statement by the Public Relations Officer, Yusuf Idowu Abass, the Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, Dr. Hon. Adekunle I. Omoyele,stated that the suspect initially claimed to have purchased the land from the Mogaji family but later confessed to forging the receipt and other documents.

The Mogaji family produced the original documents, exposing Ismail’s fraudulent activities.

Omoyele urged Osun residents to exercise caution when buying land to avoid falling victim to fraudulent sellers, he emphasized the importance of verifying the authenticity of land documents before any transaction is made.

“Operatives of the Osun Amotekun Corps have arrested a man, Lasisi Ismail (42), for allegedly selling a piece of land that does not belong to him at Ilori-Agedu, Ede State for the sum of N800,000.00. The suspect sold the land to a woman, Mrs. Afolabi, with a fake document.

“The suspect was arrested on Sunday after a report was filed at the Amotekun Headquarters in Osogbo on the activities of the culprit who fled to unknown place after selling the land to the woman. Amotekun operatives sprung into action immediately after a report was filed and the suspect arrested from his hideout.

“The Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, Dr. Hon. Adekunle I Dr Omoyele confirmed the arrest in Osogbo, he maintained that the suspect was arrested following the receipt of a complaint of his illegal activities at the Amotekun headquarters in Osogbo and that Amotekun operatives swiftly swung into action and arrested the suspect from his hideout.

“Omoyele speak further that Ismail presented a forged receipt, claiming he bought the land from Mogaji’s family, but later confessed to forging the receipt and documents. The Mogaji family produced the original receipt, confirming Ismail’s dishonesty.

“Omoyele called on Osun residents to be extremely careful when buying land from people.

“The suspect has been transferred to the police for further interrogation and prosecution.
