Nigerians Advised to Arrive Two Hours Early for Flights; No Refunds for Late Check-Ins, Says NCAA

The Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection at the National Civil Aviation Authority NCAA, Michael Achimugum has warned Nigerians against coming to the airport late.
In a post shared on X, Achimugu said to avoid any issues, passengers on a local flight are expected to be at the airport two hours before their flight. He mentioned that if a passenger fails to check in as when due, he or she is not entitled to a refund let alone compensation.
He wrote
‘’There’s this stubborn complainant…
“Let me just say this today:
“An Air passenger has a responsibility to arrive on time for check-in and boarding processes.
“If you arrive AFTER the check-in counter has closed, you are considered a NO-SHOW and you are not entitled to a refund, not to talk of compensation!
“Aviation regulations are mostly global. It is not a Nigerian thing. For local flights, be at the airport TWO HOURS before departure.
“Why should I come two hours before flight as if I don’t have other things to do?”
“Ignorance is not an excuse.”
