Tinubu Praises Education Drive, Launches Alternative School For Girls In Osun
The first Lady of Nigeria,Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has highlighted the current administration’s strong commitment to education in country.
She stressed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s introduction of a student loan scheme reflects his deep regard for youth education and national development.
Speaking at the groundbreaking event for the Alternative High School for Girls in Osogbo, Osun state, Senator Oluremi emphasized that the initiative marks the start of a new era and promising opportunities for talented young girls and women who faced obstacles in accessing education.
She reiterated that there is no doubt, that without education girls will lack skill to assess information to make necessary decision on their health and future.
She states that through the initiate girls and women who faced obstacles in accessing education will have a second chance to acquire higher education and valuable skills to enable them reach their full potential in life.
According to her “This ceremony marks the beginning of an opportunity for a new chapter and chance for a promising future for exceptional young girls and women who involved through the door of this school.
“I introduced the idea of the establishment of an alternative high school for girls a vision which was accepted and utilized by Lagos state ministry of education in the year 2007 when my husband was the governor of Lagos state, and this particular school still run till date.
“My motivation as a educationist and a lifelong teacher sends for a desire to see young girls and women who dropped out of school due to unplanned pregnancies, cultural barriers, economic and financial reasons and many more have a second chance to acquire higher education and valuable skills to enable them reach their full potential in life.
“His Excellency,President Bola Ahmed Tinubu values education and has introduced national student loan scheme which is now in effect for our youth to have unhindered assess to education, knowing that education is a bedrock of national development and the corner to upon which dreams are built, skills acquired and aspirations generally realized.
“In a world where every girls deserves the opportunity to try and reach their fullest potential, it’s sad to witness the barriers that stand in the way of their education, no doubt, without education girls will lack necessary skills to support themselves and assess information to make informed decision about their health and future.
” The alarming rate of school dropped out are strick reminder for the need for alternative solution in educational pursuit, the consequences of this challenge affect not only their individual life but also attendance due to socioeconomic implications for our nation, we cannot afford to squander the potential, and talent of half of our population, ensuring access to inclusive and equitable quality education that fosters lifelong learning opportunities for everyone is essential and is by sustainable development goal, which is to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunity for all.
“Therefore, I’m delighted to be part of this crucial endeavor today, let me also reiterate that Osun State was chosen as a location for this school through a transparent and unbiased raffle process at a strategic meeting with the state first ladies, so be rest assured that the citing of this school here in Osogbo emanated from a fair process and it’s defining guided one
Also the state governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the First Lady for considering the state worthy of the initiative.
He, thereafter, assure the First Lady tath his administration will be in robust support and committed upon the completion of the school.

Also speaking the first Lady of the state, Mrs Titilola Adeleke said ” This is a significant occasion in our journey toward a brighter for our girls and society.
“I want to appreciate the First Lady of the federal republic of Nigeria, for this wonderful initiative in education, you have a shared developmental agenda with the executive governor of Osun state , who has several programmes in place to reposition education in the state, the most recent is the employment of 5000 teaching and 250 non-teaching staff to address the short form in our suchools across the state ,
” On behalf of Osun state government and the people of the state, the present of esteem First Lady here signify the collective dedication to the welfare and empowerment of girls the various states, through the intervention like renewed hope initiative we are working toward better society for all, let us unite in our society where education is a education is a right not a privilege and ensuring every child can reach their full potential, this ceremony mark the beginning of a new chapter of growth and progress.
