Naira Abuse: Portable Advises Fans To Open Bank Accounts For Transfer
Singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has urged his supporters to set up bank accounts for him to deposit money, citing the criminalization of money spraying in the country.
In a circulated video, he is seen appealing to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for forgiveness after being caught spraying money on his fans on April 16, 2024.
This followed the six-month jail sentence handed to crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, for a Naira mutilation offence.
Speaking in Yoruba during the live chat, Portable said: “I didn’t deface the Naira.
“I help a lot of people; after God, it’s the government. Please forgive me if you have videos of me spraying money. No more spraying of money.
“My fans, if I no longer spray money, after God, it’s the government. No more spraying of money.
”If it’s about money, open bank accounts, and let’s make transfers.”
